Ok, the title might be a little misleading, we have in fact, not illustrated our way out of Newcastle so far, but our work has certainly had grand dreams of adventures in far away lands. Mexico to be precise, which was this months theme for local arts publication
Illustration Bandits. Here's a couple of tasters of my stuff from the first issue, make sure to click on numero dos for a full size version, I don't mean to blow my own trumpet, but I spent a lot of time on this one and it's worth the closer look.
I'm thinking of making the second into a screen print, with some sort of colour wash in behind the black screen.
In other news we will have some work up as part of an exhibition showcasing some North East illustration talent:
The preview is this Monday (the 1st of August) at the Sanctuary art space in St Edmunds Chapel, right on Gateshead High Street, from 6pm until 9pm and you're all more than welcome to attend! All the work will be for sale between £10 and £50 and there'll be a bunch of drinks and refreshments.
Also, I've been diving back into Twitter over the last couple of weeks and its been a total breath of fresh air, I'm tempted to scrap off all other social media, but I'll maybe hang fire in practicality. Anyway if you want to find me you can do right
here. Give me a shout and say hi, I'm always looking for new people to follow!
